Life with boys. Married to one, raising one, and one that is brand new. Gotta love it.

I am 30 years old, married with children. If the 20's are for finding yourself, I think it's happened just in time. Up til now I've kind of felt like a poser. But, these boys . . . Ry, G, & O . . . they've helped me become who I'm supposed to be. Being part of their lives, helping them know they are precious and loved is what I am supposed to do. Everything else is extra to that primary goal.

tornado

Finally, we are having nice "springy" weather here in Nashville. It had been strangely hot, then strangely cold, which also brought with it some terrible storms including deadly tornados in Gallatin, (just 20 miles or so from where we live) The day started out beautifully, Graham and I played outside, then around noon I put Graham down for his nap and decided to join him. I had slept fitfully the night before, and I remember waking up briefly, and thinking to myself how great I felt to sleep so deeply. What I didn't know is that the low pressure system had moved in and the tornado sirens were going off. I had left my phone downstairs by accident so I didn't get Ryan's 8 calls, and since I had the air conditioner blowing over my head (I will not miss that when we move) I couldn't hear Ryan pounding the door. I had locked him out because I've started using the deadbolt to be sure G doesn't open the doors and go outside without my knowledge, he just learned how to do that a couple days before the storm. Ryan was locked out of the house in the storm while Graham and I snored away. He even left and went to Starbucks, thinking it may pass, but when he realized things were getting worse, rather than better he finally laid on the doorbell until I mosied my way to the front door, I answered it saying "you scared me to death!" You can imagine the look I got in return.

But, besides the storm systems, spring means playing outside constantly. As you can see Graham LOVES rolling around in the grass. He is such a busy boy, I can barely keep up, even to get a quick picture. And I mean that literally. In the house, he is like a mini tornado, ripping through anything he can get his hands on, and the fact that he is growing like a weed means I have fewer and fewer safe ledges out of his reach. I don't know how many times he has pre-emptively grabbed his meal off the counter and spilled the plate onto himself and the floor. So, being able to be outside helps my sanity immensely. And of course he is much happier as well. I am so glad for spring.

That storm story is hilarious but at the same time I can only imagine how freaked Ryan was.

What a little cutie G is - can't wait to give him a big squeeze! As far as we're concerned, you can't move back soon enough.
