Life with boys. Married to one, raising one, and one that is brand new. Gotta love it.

I am 30 years old, married with children. If the 20's are for finding yourself, I think it's happened just in time. Up til now I've kind of felt like a poser. But, these boys . . . Ry, G, & O . . . they've helped me become who I'm supposed to be. Being part of their lives, helping them know they are precious and loved is what I am supposed to do. Everything else is extra to that primary goal.

morning trip

This morning we went to meet my dad on the border of Kentucky. We drove our 78 Jeep. She is a road warrior, let me tell you. Actually, it was kind of fun for all of us to take a ride. Rarely is there a hard top or doors, and I think Graham needs a little substance around him when driving down the highway, so this was the first trip for us (well, not entirely true, but that's another story and includes jamming his carseat between captain's chairs, gawking, horrified strangers, back-mountain roads, and pangs of guilt) Graham was delighted to be in the truck, and flashed me a huge grin when the Jeep rumbled to life.

Dad was delivering our new pickup. Yay! She's a beaut, a 2003 F-150 Lariot. Dad found us a great deal on the truck and we are so excited. Boys and their trucks. I'm relieved Ryan finally has one, it suits him. I'm also relieved that the next time it rains, snows, or is below 40 degrees in the morning I don't have to drive Ryan to work, or be stuck without a vehicle! Dad is hauling our CJ back to South Dakota, where it probably belongs, so that we don't have to worry about pulling it in July when we move.

Ryan is so excited about the new truck and has been outside fussing with it ever since.

So, win-win for everyone. The biggest bummer of the whole day is that dad drove many many hours South, and he couldn't stay with us more than a few moments. I was very sad/upset about that, but I'm getting over it. Graham was very upset about it, too because Papa is one of his favorite people and shortly after showing him that it's fun to stick your head out the sunroof (the truck has a sunroof, Oh Yeah) he had to take off. Graham got over it too, quite a bit faster than me as a matter of fact, and we washed away our sorrows with pancakes and eggs at Cracker Barrel.

Now we are off to find a toddler bed for Graham.

Well you can set my truck on fire, or roll it down a hill but I still wouldn't trade for a coup deville.
I got an 8 foot bed that never has to be made, you know if it weren't for trucks we wouldn't have tailgates.
I met all my wives in traffic jams...theres just something women like about a pickup MAN!

Sweet truck bro...can't wait to figure out ways to get it stuck with you! :)

Shannon,
Mom, Dad, Grandma Arnold, Darren and I are all reading your blog and we want to say we love Ryan's truck. Also, it's the first time most of us have really read your blog and we love it but it makes us miss little G too much. And of course, you guys too.

xoxo Janelle
