toddler bed
Well, this morning I was going to write about how awesome Graham did with his new toddler bed. However, he is currently in his crib crying his heart out because I think the daylight has brought with it too much temptation for him to stay put for a nap, and I moved him to the crib.
But . . . last night was great. We made his little bed, he was so excited. I haven't done much in terms of decorating, I kept it pretty simple. The bed is kind of a sleigh shape in honey wood tones, I have toyed with the idea of painting it navy, but we'll see. For bedding I just used the white chennile blanket and blue/white chenile pillows mom made him, with a soft blue blanket and sheets, but it's so adorable and he loves it. We had planned on taking it slow, setting it up in his room next to his crib and let him get used to the idea. But, both the crib and toddler bed wouldn't fit in his room, so we had to take out one. As Ryan pulled out the crib, Graham waved bye bye with no hints of secret longing to sleep one more time in his special crib. Graham was all smiles, he didn't get out of his bed all night, and he slept a full 12 hours. I was so pumped.
When I peaked in on him in the middle of the night, he looked so different, so grown up. I nearly cried. Kind of the same feeling when I realized he had stopped referring to me as ma-mom, and now I'm just mom. It makes me want to record every little thing he does, to bottle up the giggles the sly grins, the goofy words so I can take them out again someday when there is no little boy asking repeatedly for "teetah". (I'll explain teetah in another entry) I imagine there will be many more of these moments in the next few months, especially when the new baby comes, and I realize how very grown up this current baby G is.
